This idea had been brewing for several years in the mind of Jérôme Subileau, president of Blackfox. The health situation, rising transport costs and growing public awareness of local production have, in turn, accelerated the president's thinking. In 2021, he decided to join forces with Thomas Roy, the company's former sales manager, and Christophe Lasson, an injection expert from the industry, to set up their own production plant. With their heads full of unusual ideas and a strong desire to shake up traditional production methods, these three associates founded Atelier Insolite at the end of 2021. A "factory in the country", located in the former Blackfox premises, 3km from the current headquarters.

Designed entirely by the black fox product team, the first clogs to be produced by Atelier Insolite will be launched in spring 2023. They stand out, in particular, for their comfort and flexibility. These are advantages derived from the synthetic rubber material (SEBS), which consists, furthermore, of 10% recycled materials. This percentage is set to increase as the plant has set a target of using 30% recycled material by 2024. In addition to the composition, Atelier Insolite has selected its raw materials and moulds from local suppliers located less than 15 km away to reduce its carbon footprint as much as possible. Another special feature of these clogs is their high recyclability potential, with a rate of 95%. In fact, Atelier Insolite is keen to recycle the products from its own production by re-shredding the material and re-injecting it into its production process.
