Focus on Blackfox leather gloves

Servanne Herbreteau

The garden grows quiet during winter as Mother Nature rests in anticipation of a blooming spring and a lavish, sun-filled summer. However, this doesn't mean we can't enjoy the garden and nature in this season. There are always things we can do to maintain our vegetable gardens and outdoor spaces. This is why our Blackfox leather gloves are perfect for accompanying you this winter and protecting your hands. And you know what else? They're made in France!

Maintaining your garden in winter

Expert and amateur gardeners alike agree: in winter, there's less to do in the garden than in spring... But it's the perfect opportunity to take time to do small landscaping projects and maintenance work... Additionally, it's important to maintain a connection with your garden and to sustain it in winter.

Digging the earth to prepare the garden for spring, pruning fruit trees, harvesting winter lettuce, planting leeks and even bringing in wood to feed a good fire. And for all this, the black fox has what you need! Our Chêne or Érable gloves, made from bovine leather, are very comfortable. Our Chêne gloves are made of smooth leather on the back and lined on the palm for more dexterity. And our Érable gloves have the added benefit of being water repellent to keep hands dry when handling wet objects. They'll accompany you on these small maintenance projects.

Both are lined in polyester and equipped with an elastic cuff to protect the wrists and make them easy to slip on, our "Cheêne" and "Érable" gloves are made in France and meet EN 420 2003 + A1 2009 standards with a dexterity rating of 5/5. Both versions are unisex and available in sizes 7, 8, 9 and 10.

For preparing the vegetable garden and tinkering at the workbench

Winter is also the time to take care of your vegetable garden and prepare it for the next season: mulch your zucchini, tomatoes, melons, strawberries or any other plant that requires water and is sensitive to frost. Black Fox also advises you to check on the winter coverings of your cold weather plants and adjust them if necessary.

And since winter requires less time spent on garden maintenance and harvesting, it's also a great time to use those free hours to do some tinkering at the workbench. You've been thinking about installing that low wall or fence for a few months or even a few years as well as reorganizing your terrace to welcome your friends and family during the summer months. You've also thought about building a playhouse for your kids or a small shed at the back of your garden for storing your tools and garden furniture for winter... So many DIY activities! Take advantage of this little break to finish some outdoor projects.

To do all of this without risking injury or to simply protect your hands from the winter cold, our Hêtre and Frêne gloves are perfectly suited. Both are made from bovine leather and lined with polyester for great comfort and flexibility. Our Hêtre gloves are equipped with an elastic band at the wrist for a snug fit and high level of protection for the wrists. And our Frêne gloves have the added benefit of being water repellent to keep hands dry when handling wet objects. They'll accompany you in the maintenance of your vegetable garden and outdoor spaces.

Both lined and made in France, our "Frêne" and "Hêtre" gloves meet EN 420 2003 + A1 2009 standards with a dexterity rating of 5/5. Both versions are unisex and available in sizes 7, 8, 9 and 10.
